Jan Siesicki is a senior solicitor at MJH.
He specialises in competition law, with particular emphasis on issues relating to agreements restricting competition and merger control. He also advises clients on regulations concerning payment backlogs, control of certain investments and contractual advantage.
In his practice to date, Jan has supported domestic and international clients in the wholesale and retail distribution of FMCG, food products, medical products, the manufacture and distribution of electrical goods, construction, as well as those operating in the military and energy industries.
He has been involved in a number of precedent-setting proceedings, which have resulted in the development of new practices by the competition authority, new definitions of relevant markets, and conditions for the authority's approval of concentrations. Jan also has extensive experience in supporting clients during searches conducted by the antitrust authority. He also participated in and advised on the first ever search conducted by the European Commission under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation.
He gained his professional experience at leading law firms: Domański Zakrzewski Palinka sp.k. and Sołtysiński Kawecki & Szlęzak sp.k.
He graduated in law from the University of Warsaw, and his thesis entitled ‘The evolution of the approach to the assessment of vertical agreements, taking into account the concept of the VBER amendment’ was awarded by the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and the Competition Law Association in a competition for the best master's thesis in the field of competition protection.
